This semester I will be a Research Assistant to Professor Brent Ryan in DUSP (Department of Urban Studies and Planning) working on generating images for his upcoming publication. More updates to come.
Back to Class
I flew back from Taos this weekend to some rainy January weather. I'm happy to be back on my bike riding around Cambridge. This week I start a week long TA training class for Art Culture and Technology at MIT. The spring semester starts February 3rd!
Earthship Biotecture: Week 2
I'm two weeks into my Earthship internship here in Taos, New Mexcio.
Check it out here: http://earthship.com/Learn-More/internships. There's also a movie, Garbage Warrior, to watch here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7h1eRiJwow.
Since I've been here, I've been mixing and pouring concrete, constructing wooden window and door frames, pounding rammed-earth tires, leveling ground, building plaster and aluminum can walls, plastering a hay-bale wall house, and learning about passive heating, solar gain, passive water collection, composting, on-site sewage management, and many types of plant-growing methods. I've met a lot of great people with passion for learning and architectural experimentation.
